Joke Craft for Comics (Intro course)

Due to demand, this 6-week course is returning once again and will be led by Stephen Carlin, Stella Graham & Alvin Liu based on material created by Amanda Baker, Abi Grant and Jimmy Carr. The sessions will be supported by Amanda and Abi where relevant. 

There may not be many more chances of doing this course live (it will be based on demand).

We’ll cover the top 50 joke types along with their components, aka their working parts. Each class ends with some attention to basic performance.

Please note, that this is NOT an idea-generating course. It’s a 'how jokes work’ course.

Please also be aware that it’s intensive so expect a lot of homework. But, if you take it seriously, and work hard, you will leave with over 200 new jokes from a wide variety of joke types.

NOTE: To spend enough time with everyone, the maximum number of people in this course will be 15. So, grab your tickets quickly.

Pre-requisites to the course: You have to have done stand-up for a MINIMUM of 6 months. The longer you’ve done comedy though, the more you’ll get out of this course.
