Restoring Nature: A Literary Festival 2026
Ambios and The East Gate Bookshop have teamed up once again to host Restoring Nature 2026, a one-day family-friendly literary festival at Lower Sharpham Barton Farm.
Join us on Saturday 16th May 2026!
The day will be filled with talks, walks, books, authors, discussions, live music, a fully licensed bar and delicious locally sourced food. There will be authors throughout the day reading and presenting from their books, both outside on the land and inside the barn.
The guest authors for Restoring Nature 2026 are:
John Wright with "Grasslands: The Intricate Life of Britain's Hidden Habitats", in conversation with Guy Freeman.
Brigit Anna McNeill with "The Wild Within: What Plants Taught Me about Life, Recovery and Renewal", in conversation with Poppy Okotcha.
Dr Eloise Kane with "Wilderlands: The Human History of Wild Britain", in conversation with Jane Acton.
Merlin Hanbury-Tenison with "Our Oaken Bones: Reviving a Family, a Farm and Britain’s Ancient Rainforests", in conversation with Hal Gilmore.
All ages are welcome and well-behaved dogs on lead are also welcome.
Please note parking at the farm is only available to Blue Badge holders. We are a 45-minute walk from Totnes town along the scenic cycle path. Alternatively, a free return shuttle service provided by the non-profit Totnes Community Bus Group will be available from Totnes town.
