- About Us -

Santee Hernandez
Born in Colombia and moved to London as a child, Santee Hernandez began his dance journey at the age of 9 years old. He started to compete as a soloist and went on numerous TV shows where he was called to showcase his talent. At the age of 16, he traveled to Colombia with Fuerza Latina to train with Imperio Juvenil. He also competed with them and won several competitions and titles, and that time in Colombia inspired him to continue his journey and try to become one of the best dancers in Europe. He then started teaching everything that he had learnt at his own dance academy, Los Rumberos but also continued to learn different salsa styles like On2, Son, LA, and even Afro rumba. He went on to compete internationally by himslelt amd with his group and he became one of the most wanted and respected teachers in the UK. Teaming up with Sasha Philips, they travelled together, performing, competing and teaching, making a name for themselves in the European salsa festivals.

DJ Isaac
Over the past few years, Isaac has quickly become a very popular DJ in and around Bristol. He has gained a large following who visit his events and appreciate the quality he brings to his parties, both through his music, as well as through his passion for DJing and bringing people together in the salsa scene. If you haven't heard Isaac's music yet - now is your chance!

Amity Salsa
Amity Salsa (formerly Bristol Salsa On2) is based in Redcliffe, Bristol and runs various levels of salsa classes (on1 and on2) every week (see amitysalsa.com). It was founded in April 2024 by Tef & Hannah and has grown ever since. They now consist of a larger team of resident teachers & partners and organise regular events as well. Amity Salsa aims to increase the quality of salsa dancing, salsa teaching, and salsa events in and around Bristol.

Hannah’s dancing started aged three with ballet, tap and modern and later she fell in love with salsa, a passion that has lasted over two decades. Hannah has performed nationally and internationally with Shelley and Gil’s semi-professional team, Alma de Pexava for over 5 years, and has taught throughout the UK. Training with Pexava, she developed the nickname ‘Speedy Gonzales’ because of her fast spinning and following! Passionate about technique, body movement and spinning, Hannah loves sharing her knowledge to help dancers hone high quality movement and become the best dancers they can be.

Tef has been dancing salsa for over 10 years and has taken classes all over the world. Before moving to Bristol, he was a regular teacher for Ardour in Cardiff, providing technique-focused classes and entertaining students with his good humour and friendly approach. An analyst by day, Tef is passionate about understanding the mechanisms behind complex turn patterns and translating them in a way that is easy to understand and apply.
