An introduction into the art of mosaics, with mosaicist and designer Amy Exton. This a great introductory session if you’re keen on learning the basics of mosaics, but also good fun for anyone who likes to try their hand at new crafts.

During this three hour session, Amy will walk you through the process of making your very own mosaic tile using the direct-method. You'll learn how to apply your design to your substrate, use mosaic nippers to cut and shape your tiles, and how to lay your tesserae. Amy will provide a selection of design templates for you to pick from, or you can design something from scratch, and there will be a colourful selection of glass and ceramic tiles to play with.

Your finished 10 cm mosaic tile will be waterproof for use in the bathroom or kitchen, or can be used as a coaster or wall decoration.

After the session Amy will grout your tile at her studio, and deliver it back to High Tide ready to be collected the following week. If you'd rather have your tile posted directly to you, this can be arranged with an additional p&p charge.
