A Story of Resilience, Survival, Music & Hope
Join us for an unforgettable evening featuring 99-year-old Holocaust survivor Saul Dreier, a living testament to resilience and strength. At just 14, Saul endured the horrors of World War II, surviving ghettos, labor camps, and concentration camps, and emerged as the sole survivor of his family. Despite unimaginable adversity, his passion for music sustained him, leading to the founding of the Holocaust Survivor Band—a symbol of the healing power of music and human resilience. The evening will begin with a performance of traditional Jewish melodies by Saul, accompanied by musicians from the Portland Symphony Orchestra and the Casco Bay Tummlers Klezmer Band. Following the music, Rob Caldwell from Channel 207 will conduct an interview with Saul, including a Q&A session. The program will conclude with more music, offering a moving tribute to Saul's incredible journey and the enduring power of hope and resilience.
