ANARCHA FOLK FEST 2025 CYMRU

Anarcha Folk Fest 2025 will take place on August 15-17 in Wales, at The Workhouse, Llanfyllin. We are so excited to be the next host and look forward to you joining us - in your basket you can select tickets for the festivals, beds and meals! Please read the information below carefully to ensure you purchase the correct tickets and have all info you need to plan your trip to the festival.

This is a not-for-profit festival, run by volunteers - every penny you spend will go to supporting the infastructure, bands and workshops - if we sell out and make a profit this will be sent to grassroots activist groups (we haven't decided which ones yet).

For this event, we have quite high outgoings (for a DIY event!), so we really would appreciate early ticket sales to help us get our initial costs covered. All the organisers are volunteers, doing this for the love of it - all your ticket money will go towards hiring the venue, soundsystem, artists and workshop travel costs etc.

When you buy your ticket, there are also options to purchase meals ahead of time. There will be hearty vegan meals made by Two Trees Catering for lunch and dinner - by buying ahead of time this helps support the caterer to buy the ingredients. When arriving at the gate, you will be given your vouchers which can be used at lunch or dinner time.

The ticket includes a space in the camping field.

BED TICKETS in a shared dorm

The workhouse has shared dormitories with bunk beds, these are limited and we are currently offering only 12 beds for sale, though more may become available. These are £45 for 3 nights. This will be a good option for those who are travelling from abroad and may not be able to bring their tents etc. If they are showing as sold out, drop us email to see what we can sort out.

MEAL TICKETS (2 meals a day served - pre-buying these helps cover costs!)

Two Trees Catering are coordinating a people's kitchen providing lunch and dinners throughout the weekend.

They say; "We are a workers co-op and have many years of experience catering for everything from protest camps to conferences to weddings. Meals will be vegan (with some veggie options), nourishing, and tasty! There will always be gluten free options and we'll be careful of cross contamination with nuts, but come talk to us if you have other dietary requirements and we'll see what we can do. Bring your own cup and keep hold of it! Your own cutlery and a plate/bowl will be useful but we'll also have some we can provide. We're trying to keep costs as low as possible and will be relying on volunteers to help chop veg and wash up! Please sign up for a shift and come join our friendly crew."

Meals will be priced on a sliding scale:
£4 (below cost)
£6 (costs covered)
£8 (solidarity price)

You will be able to pre-purchase meal tickets when you buy your festival tickets (this will help us cover up-front costs) or you can buy it on the day.

Food will be available from Friday - Sunday. Please bring your own breakfast provisions. Tea and coffee will be available from the kitchen at breakfast times. You are also very welcome to bring your own provisions instead and there are basic shops in town 10 minutes walk away.

We currently have these for sale in bundes of 3 or 6 - you can buy individual meal tickets when on site, but pre-sales are help us to cover initial costs so they are only available online in bundles.

There is limited car parking and campervan space on site. If you can come by public transport or ride share, please do! <3

PARKING AND CAMPERVANS

Car Parking Info

There has been an increase on parking available onsite, and while this is still limited we understand that our venue is rural and sometimes options are limited. If you are able to travel by public transport or catch a lift we strongly enourage this and hope that nobody turns up with empty seats!

There is a liftshare spreadsheet here.

We are aware that some people will need to bring vehicles, for a long list of potential reasons. We do not want to restrict anyone's access to the festival by impeding their need of a vehicle. We also do not want to price vehicle tickets in such a way that creates a financial privilege. If you need to bring a vehicle, please fill in this form so that we can manage the number of vehicles on site.

Can I bring my campervan?

As stated above, we would strongly encourage everyone who feels able to come by public transport or by taking a lift to do so as space is limited. However due to the location of the venue and the understanding that campervan and live-in vehicles are widely used for events such as this, we have managed to make further arrangements to increase our capacity.

Campervans, cars, and tent camping will be in seperate areas but our site is not large and distances between everything is short. We do ask that people keep to a respectful pitch size, do not bring large awnings and stay clear of the fire lanes. Please arrive at the same time as your desired neighbours as our parking stewarding team will be small and are not able to save spaces.

If you would like to bring a campervan, please fill in this form (same as above) so that we can manage the number of vehicles on site.

We are a DIY event and everybodies help is essential for the smooth running of the festival!

Do I need an additional ticket for my car/van?

No, we are a non-commercial not-for-profit festival so we will not be ripping you off by making you pay to bring your car or van. With accessability as a core value of our festival we aim to make sure people with additional needs are reassured there wont be an additional cost causing a boundary. If you are able to travel by public transport or to get a lift, which will free a space for people with essential needs, please do so.

Public transport

The closest train station to site is Welshpool (11 miles southeast) - from which you can catch buses to Llanfyllin, a short walk from site along a pavement. Oswestry is the next closest (14 miles northeast). Shrewsbury (28 miles to the East) is the closest big train station - if you are coming from England (or maybe even Ireland!) likely you will come through here. There are also a couple of direct buses daily from there to Llanfyllin. We recommend checking Traveline Cymru for up to date train and bus timetables. See FAQ on the website for more travel info.
