As has been the tradition since 2015, Thursdays are our dedicated weekly beginners evenings where we teach a taster class and induction session. You’ll need to pre-book tickets for these sessions.

Please note this is not a workshop, but a taster class. The aim is to provide a short practical session for those new and curious about rope.

You are welcome to join on your own. We provide opportunities for people to pair up or work in groups if they wish. However, there is no obligation to do so, and self-tying/observing is perfectly normal and welcome.

Topics may vary slightly each week depending on the teachers and the group vibe. We do not cover any particular topic in depth and there is no progression between Thursdays, although you will likely learn new things every time you join.

You can use our communal rope for the class, we also sell rope here. We also sell rope jam tickets that include the purchase of a rope kit with 2 lengths of jute rope and a pair of EMT shears which will be ready for you to pick up at the start of the rope jam.

Please note you might have to share the tying space with non-beginners who will be engaging in rope play. They usually stay out of the way on the sides and corners of the main tying space.

We ask that you keep all rope and play to the downstairs area, so the upstairs lounge can be reserved for relaxing, observing and socialising.

Schedule:
- Doors open at 6:30pm
- Taster class and induction from 7 to 8:30pm 
- Open tying and socialising from 8:30pm to 10:30pm
- Doors close at 10:30pm
