Drawn to Rope - Shibari life drawing
Drawn to Rope - Shibari life drawing
March guest: self-suspension by Sugea!
•
Every month we run a life drawing evening called ‘Drawn to Rope’, in collaboration with our artist friend InkyLayla. The event pre-dates Anatomie as we’ve been running it since 2014 in various London venues before finding our permanent home. For this reason this event is a staple of the studio!

What to expect?
The event runs from 7pm tp 10pm - we usually open the space at 6:30pm for folks to set-up and settle in. We provide some materials (paper and drawing/painting materials) but you are also invited to bring your own. There is a mix of levels in terms of drawing ability, some novice enthusiasts and also some more expert folks.
The event is split in two halves with a 20 min break in the middle. Every event we welcome different tying pairs and we try to provide variety in terms of rope styles, dynamics, bodies, genders etc. Poses range between 30 seconds and 15 minutes - poses are short due to the nature of rope (it's tough!) - and you'll be able to draw a variety of floor and suspension poses.
The photo policy varies between guests and will be revealed on the day.

About the performer
This month we will bring you a self-suspension set by Spanish performer Sugea!
"I’m Sugea rubber, a shibari performer and facilitator who’s been working in some self suspension tying to explore something different. The way you can bring yourself to wherever you want, can be an amazing creation of art and intimacy”. - Sugea
