[Improvers] Ground to Flight: A Freeform Journey - With Mouse and MJ

Sat 12 Sep 2026 10:30 AM - Sun 13 Sep 2026 6:00 PM BST Anatomie Studio Arch 113 / Unit 17 Station Passage, SE15 2JR

🚨 We are welcoming back 2 beloved former Anatomie team members for a weekend of freeform tying! This workshop can be booked as separate days or together as a single weekend workshop (save £20 when you book the 2 days). Day one is focused on freeform fundamentals and day two is focused on suspension. See below for details on pre-requisites and see here for our class levels explained.

👉 Our events deal with adult themes. You must be 18+ to join.

🪢 About the class

Join Mouse (she/her) and MJ (she/they) for an immersive exploration of freeform shibari, where creative expression meets technical knowledge. This workshop takes you through fluid ground work on day one, and into free-form suspensions on day two, so is perfect for those wanting to break free from traditional patterns while maintaining safety and connection. The weekend consists of two one-day workshops that can be done independently of each other; only day two requires suspension knowledge.

Day One: Freeform Foundations

Discover how to move beyond structured patterns into intuitive, flowing ties. Through focused exercises and guided practice, you'll develop the confidence to read your partner's body and create engaging scenes without relying on memorised patterns.

You'll learn:

  • Techniques for fluid body manipulation

  • Methods to enhance improvisational skills for spontaneous, expressive tying

  • How to create load bearing ties on the fly

  • Strategies to refine your ability to read your partner's body language

  • Skills for creating dynamic ground-based scenes

  • Approaches to building confidence in unstructured tying

Day Two: Taking Flight

Elevate your practice into partial and full suspensions, teaching you to maintain that same creative freedom while working with gravity. You'll learn to seamlessly transition between ground and air, creating dynamic scenes that respond to your partner's energy and movement.

You'll learn:

  • Advanced approaches to weight distribution and balance

  • Skills for creating stable suspensions without relying on pre-tied harnesses

  • Techniques for seamless transitions between positions and elevations

  • Methods for maintaining creative freedom in the air

  • Strategies for dynamic scene development

👩‍🏫 Who teaches this class?

Mouse (she/her/it) is a queer, mixed race, fat femme rope bottom and accidental rigger from London, living in the Lakes.

Finding her way into rope in early 2018, she started as a bottom with a passion for torture and predicaments, before discovering the joy of tying as well. Since then they have developed into both an educator and facilitator, while still maintaining her love for torture as a bottom.

Mouse's approach is deeply rooted in creativity, using technical knowledge to break traditional moulds. Her fusion style draws inspiration from various archetypes to create something uniquely her own, channelling what she calls Chaotic Toddler Energy™️ into (usually sadistic) ties, while maintaining a focus on bodily manipulation and connectivity.

As a disabled educator living with fibromyalgia, Mouse brings a distinctive perspective to her teaching, emphasising adaptability and accessibility for all body types and abilities. She creates safe, intuitive learning spaces that help others discover their own connections and feelings through rope.

Mouse's Teaching Philosophy

Mouse's teaching is grounded in several core principles:

Body Neutrality & Fat Positivity: All bodies are rope bodies. Techniques are adapted to work with diverse body types, with particular attention to fat bodies and accessibility needs.

Creativity Over Convention: Breaking traditional patterns to develop personal style and authentic expression through rope.

Inclusive Sexuality: Rope is for everyone - whether your interest is sexual, platonic or artistic. All relationship dynamics and orientations are welcomed.

Accessible Education: Classes are designed with modifications and alternatives for different abilities, energy levels, and physical limitations.

Consent & Communication: Strong emphasis on negotiation, ongoing consent, and building trust between partners.

Mouse remains a passionate advocate for body and racial diversity in rope and kink scenes, firmly standing by her belief that rope is truly for everyone.

Munjeeta (she/ they) is a past member of the Anatomie team, a sex educator, and a psychosexual and relationship therapist. Munjeeta has been exploring the kinkier side of life for almost a decade and qualified as a therapist in July 2024. They have been tying with Mouse for years and together they enjoy a playful, affectionately sadistic dynamic. An ex primary school teacher, Munjeeta always said she wouldn’t quit teaching when she quit teaching. And here they are: teaching shibari to adults, instead of teaching maths to 11-year-olds. It’s definitely more fun!
