Intro to ElectroSM with Fred

Wed 8 Jul 2026 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM BST Anatomie Studio Arch 113 / Unit 17 Station Passage, SE15 2JR

🚨 This is an electroplay class focusing on SM and is open to beginners and all levels. The class is taught by Fred and is focused on the more intense side of play. If this is your jam, then come along.

🪢 About the class

Do you like playing with intense sensations and the SM side of the scale? Then this class is for you. ElectroSM toys are one of Fred's favourite things to work with — the dynamic they create is quietly menacing: minimal effort from the top, maximum effect for the bottom, and most of it happening in the head rather than on the skin. The aesthetics of wires and dials don't hurt either...

In this class Fred will share how these toys work (e-stims, tens units) and how they can be used in scenes.

Topics will include:

- safety and how these tools work (we'll dispel myths and give you the actual science)
- building a scene: aesthetics, psychology, headspace
- building or finding your top persona
- ideas for playing with restraints, and predicaments
- building safety and consent in these types of scenes

The class will not focus on using electrotoys for sensation play or sensual scenes. We will not focus on violet wands for example.

👉 Although other toys might be mentioned (tazzapers for example), the class will primarily focus on e-stim / TENS units — commercially available, regulated consumer products with roots in medical technology. TENS units are clinical devices used for pain relief and physiotherapy; e-stim sex toys are consumer products regulated under standard product safety rules.

You will be able to bring your own electro toys (of any kind) if you have any, or try the ones Fred will bring. We have e-stim units available for the class to try.

You can attend solo or partnered and you can either participate or just watch.

👉 Note: the demos might include nudity and things you might find triggering. You don't have to play with anything outside your comfort zone.

👩‍🏫 WHO TEACHES THIS CLASS?

Fred Hatt is a co-founder of Anatomie Studio and an experienced shibari educator for close to a decade. He regularly teaches in London and abroad focusing on both the “how” and “why” of rope. Known for his technical approach, he pays close attention to the small details that make a tie work. His style leans towards transitions and predicaments, and while naturally introverted, he is a thoughtful and dedicated teacher invested in making information accessible and practical.
