[Beginners Plus] Bamboo Floor Ties - with Anna Bones & Jenni Noon
Have you attended a Thursday beginners class? Then this is for you!
👉 Our events deal with adult themes. You must be 18+ to join.
❓ About the class
In this evening class we will teach you techniques for tying bamboo on the body to create shapes and sensations. These include laddering and square lashing, how to tie rope to bamboo using clove hitches and also where to tie the bamboo on the body (anatomy, safety and aesthetic considerations).
The class will focus on how to use these ties for play - whether that means spicy play or more platonic, sensation based play. We'll show how to be soft, how to be mean, and even how to create small floor predicaments using bamboo.
The class is open to anyone who knows how to tie a SCT (single column tie) and/or who has attended at least one of our Thursday beginner classes.
Expect a welcoming and supportive environment where you can work at your own pace.
Class size is limited to 12 couples, ensuring plenty of individual attention and space to practice.
Topics covered:
-
SCT/DCT revision
-
Laddering/lacing, and square lashing
-
Clove hitches
-
Anatomy and safety considerations
-
Play ideas, including little predicaments
Moving the body while tied
💡 Who can come?
The class is suitable for beginners - knowledge of the single column tie is highly recommended - this class is particularly well suited to those who have attended at least one Thursday beginner session and are looking to build on that.
This class is marked "Beginner Plus". See here for our class levels explained.
👥 Who teaches this class?
Anna Bones and TBA will be teaching this class.
Anna Bones discovered rope, with her now-husband Fred Hatt, in 2013 and has been in love with it ever since.
Rope quickly escalated from a side hobby to a full-time job, culminating in the opening of Anatomie Studio (the UK's largest and first full-time Shibari space) which she runs with Fred Hatt since 2015.
Anna has taught and performed with her partner all over the world, but her favourite place is still her local hub, where welcoming and teaching beginners is her main passion. From self-tying, bottoming and rigging, Anna loves it all, although she finds being tied the greatest joy of all.
Anna enjoys learning from different teachers and about different Shibari styles, so when she teaches she can cover a range of techniques and approaches. Regardless of motivation or dynamic, she believes rope can be a great tool for self discovery and for building trust and intimacy within healthy partnerships.
