About the workshop
This workshop aims to promote new ways of suspending and transitioning with objects. We will explore complex and challenging compositions with bodies in the air and we will compare the differences between the feelings and emotions between tying in the air and tying with objects. You will learn specific elements and how to use them to create unusual positions, manipulate the body in the air and improvise with all the tools you have.
In this class will find ways to create beautiful and sustainable suspensions. We will explore different kinds of ties and harnesses and how can riggers use what their model is offering them. We will also see how to use the remaining rope in decorative ways (kazari) and how to put the suspension lines in the tie. Finally we will explore different styles of aesthetics.
Prerequisites
This workshop requires a solid technical knowledge in suspension for the riggers and previous suspension experience for the models. People tying need to know how to attach suspension lines and how to lock them off in a secure way. People being tied need to have some previous experience in suspensions.
It is suitable for every gender, age, body type.
About the teachers
WisDomme
WisDomme (Sofia Porfiri) began her rope journey in 2012, being in contact with local rope enthusiasts and experimenting on her own.) In 2017 she decided to take rope more seriously and started attending workshops and rope events.
Since then she has attended classes and workshops with some of the top rope artists of the shibari scene, such as Sophia Rose, Boris Mosafir, Jonathan Ryan, Pauline Massimo, Gestalta, Felix Ruckert, Tamandua, La QuartaCorda, Tako and many more. She has performed all over Greece, in Cyprus and has participated in Rome Bondage Week, Onawa Asobi Festival, EURIX and BoundCon as a presenter and performer.
In February 2018 she, along with four other rope lovers, founded the AthenShibari team and started to organize rope events in Athens and other places. AthenShibari as we speak is the biggest shibari team in Greece.
WisDomme loves all the aspects of rope, but mostly its restriction, the connections that arise by it, the visuals, and creativity. She also loves the challenge of how to work with different body types, finding new ways of creating shapes and movements, but also feelings and reactions.
She teaches all levels and her main goal as a presenter is to encourage everyone to discover their own path in shibari; to gain confidence in their skills, making secure steps and be their own artists. She also ties for photo-shoots and has worked with many talented models, such as Maya Homerton, Saara Rei, Deborah Sarura, GluWur, Gestalta and Pauline Massimo. In performing, WisDomme has an artistic and playful style, mostly based on dynamic transitions and usually combined with theatrical elements.

Nyx Rope
For Nyx, shibari refers to challenge, to SM, to art, to eroticism. Ropes seduce her in a strange way and at the same time they make her willing to discover the limits of her body and her mind. She also loves the aesthetics of the art of Japanese erotic bondage. What she can create while she is in the ropes can be a big part of her involvement with shibari. But above everything, for her it is the unique connection with the person who is tying her, the trust, the power exchange.
She began her exploration in 2021 in a professional way, participating in workshops, photoshoots and performances.
She is an active member of the AthenShibari team and one of the core participants in the local rope scene. She is also co-teaching in many workshops and provides valuable guidance to new models who want to take their first steps in their rope exploration. Her goal is to show that shibari is for everyone and to help in creating a comfortable and safe environment for all those who want to explore it.
