It is magical when you have that bond in rope where you can sink into and surrender completely and float away. The chemistry aligns and you are whisked off to another place. Is it all chance or is there a way to consistently create this chemistry?

In this workshop, you will learn the “soft” skill of connection, how to better connect with your partner in rope. You will practice the basic principles of power dynamics, both giving and receiving which creates the frame of surrender and how to create the “chemistry" for a more rewarding experience for both Top and Bottom.

About the facilitators

Zuberi
Drawing on a background including, martial arts, tantra and shiatsu, Zuberi (he/him) brings some element of all of these disciplines to his rope practice. Since his introduction to shibari/kinbaku in 2014, he has experienced many styles, from the traditional system of Naka Akira to the more modern style of Fred Hatt and is always keen to study and learn new systems and pass on knowledge.

As Black and British from an African decent, Zuberi supports and encourages, sex positive, body positive kink in the BAME community.

Dee
Dee (she/they) is a queer rope bottom who has been part of the rope community in London, Montreal, and NYC since 2015, tying with Zuberi from the beginning. They enjoy rope for the range of juicy energies and intimacies it co-creates, ranging from deep psychological trust and connection, to playing with power exchange, pain, laughter, and the pleasures of aftercare. She uses rope to connect in (and shape) different relational registers: friendships, queer kinship, play partnerships, romance and sexual relations.
