Description

About the event

A switchy class to explore three-way tying.

A ticket is for three people, so please come with people you would like to tie and/ or be tied by as there won't be time to pair people up.

This session will explore creative ways to tie as a trio in various configurations (2 riggers, one bottom, 2 bottoms, one rigger, as well as switchiness). The session will be a mix of led and guided exercises with a mix of collective exploration. It will include prompts and suggestions. You are welcome to bring any outfits or props that may inspire you.

Pre-requisites:
riggers should know at least one chest and one lower body harness. You will need at least 6 ropes. Please note that this not a technical class, so we won’t expect or teach specific harnesses.

About the facilitators

Nik Yourknots has been interested in rope bondage for over six years. Lately, he has been developing a practice of guiding models and riggers alike through the rope experience that focuses on the body, movement and connection. Nik's unique and eclectic style, with a focus on aesthetics and intention, stems from his training in three art institutions across Russia and the United Kingdom and the teachings of a variety of bondage artists from Europe, America and Asia. Nik's versatile work ranges from photo and video to performance and installation art. His interests reach beyond bondage to include poetry, dance, sound and video design, all of which feed into his work as a shibari artist. Nik's work has been featured in print, film, and events in the UK and internationally.

Anna Noctuelle
discovered Shibari - the Art of Japanese Rope Bondage - over 15 years ago and has worked with this art form as a model, performer and teacher as well as a designer. She is part of the teaching team at Anatomie Studio London, offers private teaching as well as co-teaching with other Shibari educators. She has taught and performed in various rope communities across Europe and international festivals such as Eurix. For the current schedule, please see here. Her background in classical dance, her interest in Buddhism and meditation and her yoga practice influence her aesthetic and philosophical approach to Shibari and have provided her with exceptional body awareness skills in ropes and suspension.

Jenni
is a dancer, ex gymnast, and yoga teacher in training. She fell in love with shibari two years ago for the embodied feeling and the connection with amazing humans. Other interests currently include zouk, aerial silk, acroyoga and tantra, all which influence her style in rope.

Prerequisites

This workshop is not specifically aimed at two riggers tying one models; it's a much more switchy vibe, but at least one person should have knowledge of shibari and be able to tie with some confidence.

What should I bring and what do I wear?

Communal ropes are available in the studio. People usually wear comfortable clothing like yoga or dance attire. We advise against loose-fitting clothing. Jeans also can sometimes feel a bit restrictive to move around in and difficult to tie on.
