Guests: Burgundy Rose and SpringTide

Every month we run a life drawing evening called ‘Drawn to Rope’, in collaboration with our artist friend InkyLayla. The event pre-dates Anatomie as we’ve been running it since 2014 in various London venues before finding our permanent home. For this reason this event is a staple of the studio!

Burgundy Rose and SpringTide started tying together at Anatomie Studio in 2016 and are now partners in rope, and in life.
Burgundy Rose works in the performing arts, and this influences her approach to ropes and style. Dynamic, playful and attentive, she is endlessly curious about people and thrives on the intensities, physical and psychological, that rope can bring out. Spring Tide’s relationship with rope tends to be either passive and enduring suffering or active, dynamic and co-creative.
The pair have learnt from a wide range of national and international rope educators and are currently inspired by blending the intensity and aesthetics of ‘traditional’ Japanese Shibari with a more movement-based and deconstructed ‘contemporary’ style.
Their shibari teaching, performances and life modelling has taken them to London, Manchester, Bristol, Berlin, Prague, Athens and Portland (USA). They currently live in Bristol, where they run rope workshops and shibari life modelling sessions.
