The Tiered Basket Workshop
This is a beautiful asymmetric basket with a lovely wooden handle. Throughout the day, you will learn about

• the willow and how to prepare and handle
• the tools used
• the techniques for the round base
• three different weaves: pairing, waling and French randing
• asymmetric pulldown borders
• attaching a wooden handle
• growing, cutting and storing willow

You can bring your own branch handle or choose from a thoughtfully gathered collection of branches.

Held in the Old Hay Barn on the beautiful grounds of Ballinlough Castle in Westmeath, we will enjoy a full day of willow craft. You will be welcomed with freshly brewed coffee and some delicious pastries in the morning before we begin. Rest the hands again at lunch time with some lovely home cooking and help yourself to plenty of tea, coffee and snacks during the day as well. Everything is included-materials, tools and food and drink.
