Justin Worsley: The Evolving Journey from Graduation to Publication and Beyond

This October we are excited to welcome multi-award-winning author and illustrator Justin Worsley, author of hilarious picture books Henry the Artisitc Dog and One Fine Day, to our Klaus Flugge Salon.

Join Justin in conversation with his editor Sue Buswell, as he tells all about his journey from graduation to publication and beyond. With comical animal characters at the heart of his stories, from a creative dog who makes sculptures out of his poo to a bear whose eaten too many baked beans, Justin’s text and illustrations have readers both young and old laughing out loud. As we celebrate the paperback release of One Fine Day, Justin will give a behind the scenes look at his evolving career, delving into what it takes to write and illustrate such witty and charming picture books.

The Salon will take place on Thursday 15^th October 2026 from 6pm - 8.30pm and is limited to 45 tickets. Tickets cost £8 each, which includes entry, refreshments, a copy of One Fine Day and the opportunity to have your book signed by Justin.

About the Klaus Flugge Salons

Now in its second year following a hugely successful 2025, the Klaus Flugge salons are an initiative from Andersen Press to celebrate their founder and chairman Klaus Flugge and welcome people to their offices in Bloomsbury.

These events are open to anyone who wants to meet others in the publishing industry, enjoy a glass of wine and listen to an author talking about their work. They are a celebration of all that is good about the world of children's publishing today and an opportunity to make new friends, learn about new books and discuss ideas without the toxicity of social media.

Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

About Justin Worsley

Justin Worsley has been a toy designer for over 25 years and has now turned his hand to picture book making. He has a BA Hons in Industrial Design at Northumbria University, and in 2022 he graduated with a distinction from the Cambridge School of Art with an MA in Children's Book Illustration. He has since won the Batsford Prize, the CA award of excellence and the Sebastian Walker Prize. Henry: the Artistic Dog is Justin's first picture book. Justin is originally from Windermere, now living in Lewes.
