&Piano 2022's 2nd event, on Friday 6th May will take you on a journey - more than one in fact - performing songs that will give a voice to several interesting and larger than life characters.

We're delighted to welcome two exciting singers to join us this evening - Neil Balfour, Baritone, is quickly establishing himself as a leading singer around the UK. Based in Leeds, he studied at Leeds Conservatoire and the Royal Northern College of Music and has since worked with some of the leading UK Opera companies, including Opera North, English Touring Opera, Royal Opera House. He is currently touring in Madame Butterfly with Welsh National Opera, playing the role of Yamadori. He is a Young Artist as part of the prestigious Samling Institute, and also an Oxford Lieder Young Artist - recently performing a Sondheim concert with Kitty Whateley and Anna Tilbrook.

We're also joined by soprano Charlotte Trepess, another brilliant rising star, Charlotte also studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, and has since gone on to work with Opera North, Longborough Opera, Nevill Holt Opera and most recently at Garsington Opera as an Alvarez Young Artist. She regularly performs in the Republic of Ireland with a number of celebrated music ensembles including Sestina and Chamber Choir Ireland. Most recently she performed with Arcangelo at the BBC Proms in their performance of St Matthew Passion.

We're thrilled to be welcoming these two exciting young singers to &Piano, accompanied by Christopher Pulleyn, so don't miss out on the opportunity to hear them in the cozy and intimate setting of The Civic in Slaithwaite.

Slaithwaite is a beautiful village in Huddersfield, that sits along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. It has a train station with trains that come direct from Leeds and Manchester. It is also a convenient location from the M62, coming off at either J23 (coming from Manchester), or J24. There is plenty of free parking around The Civic, and also many excellent café's, restaurants and bars for food or drink before or after.
