St James' Church, Slaithwaite, HD5 7AW
Description
The &Piano Music Festival 2023 is here!
Our festival kicks into action with a week of wonderful music, celebrating live classical music and some amazing professional performers from the North of England. Our mission - since we began in 2018, was to help continue and support our region's rich musical heritage and tradition. And particularly as 2023 is the Kirklees Year of Music, we've put together our biggest festival yet - and in a slightly different format - but of course with lots of exciting music and exceptional performers.
This year, our three main events are moving just a little bit down the road in Slaithwaite, to St James' Church, where we'll kick off our things in typical &Piano tradition with an afternoon of Musical Theatre - and this year we are absolutely thrilled to be able to welcome acclaimed West End star, and four time Laurence Olivier Award nominated actress, Emma Williams.
Emma, originally from Halifax, and has had an incredible career performing in some of the biggest shows on the West End. She was the original Truly Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang performing opposite Michael Ball at the London Palladium, and in 2017 won the What's On Stage Award for Best Supporting Actress and was also nominated for an Olivier Award for the same category for her performance as the lead role of Helen in Half A Sixpence.
Join us for an afternoon with Emma, accompanied by Chris Pulleyn on piano, as she performs songs from a range of shows including 'Everybody’s Talking About Jamie', 'Come From Away', 'South Pacific' & 'Shrek', while talking about her musical experiences and influences growing up in West Yorkshire, as well as her professional career and experiences on the West End.
This is a rare opportunity to watch and listen to a West End Performer up close and personal in West Yorkshire, so book your tickets now, before they sell out!
