Our final event of &Piano 2023 is a special evening featuring the incredible pianist, and Huddersfield musical legend, Keith Swallow. Keith has had a magnificent career playing for some of the biggest and most celebrated singers and instrumentalists in the classical world including Leontyne Price, Kiri Te Kanawa, Constance Shackleton, Paul Hudson, Janet Wilson, Léon Goosens - and many many more, all the while keeping his toes in Yorkshire waters, as the regular accompanist for over 60 years with Colne Valley Male Voice Choir, teaching at the University of Huddersfield, and playing for the Mrs Sunderland Music Festival.

Keith joins &Piano Artistic Director for a conversation discussing his life and career, his life growing up in Huddersfield, the musical influences that led him onto his career as a professional accompanist, his reflections on how the music world changed during his career, and how he balanced a life up in Yorkshire alongside all his professional work around the country. We can only assume it will be filled with quintessential wit and deference that Keith is known for.

During the interview, Keith will hop on to the piano to perform a selection of pieces significant to him, and Chris will join him to play a couple of piano duets.
