From 1-25 December 2026, a filmed fairytale or folktale, told by a professional storyteller Angela Halvorsen Bogo, arrives in your inbox every day. 

Meet your storyteller - Angela Halvorsen Bogo

An English storyteller, based in Norway, trained in the Scottish storytelling tradition, Angela has travelled, collected and performed traditional fairytales and folktales, for 35 years. Every Winter Fairytale is told by Angela herself, on camera and in her own voice.

Most stories are around 10-15 minutes, with a few longer tales to settle into when you have more time. There is no need to keep up. Every story remains available until 1 March 2027, so you can watch when it suits you, catch up later and return to the stories you particularly love.

Stories for everyone

The stories are drawn oral storytelling traditions from Scotland, England, Germany, Denmark, India, Thailand, Tibet, Nigeria and from the Bedouin people. 

They are not religious stories. 

Winter Fairytales is a celebration of story, imagination and winter for people of all backgrounds and traditions.

The collection is created for adults and families with children aged approximately 8 and upwards who understand English.
