A Kingdom Jack'd

1st Zanni Theatre is thrilled to bring you a sharp political satire in Shakespearean verse: A Kingdom Jack'd by American playwright Scott Bradley.

The play reimagines an iconic moment in political (and Shakespearean) history: what if Jack Falstaff, Shakespeare's most (in)famous clown, somehow found his way onto the thrown of England instead of Henry IV?

This is Shakespeare turned upside-down: brutal satire meets broad comedy, all delivered in tightly wrought verse, creating a medieval alternate history that cuts close to our own modern political absurdity.

Presented in collaboration with York International Shakespeare Festival, A Kingdom Jack'd makes its worldwide debut at the medieval Merchant Adventurer's Hall.
