Care Group Training are proud to announce their Virtual Flu Update training for primary care sessions for the 2026/27 Influenza season.

This 3 -hour Flu 2026/27 update training session will tell you everything you need to know about this season guidelines, eligibility and exclusion criteria. It will equip you with best practice for all health professionals including legal frameworks and highlight patient communication and public health messages to improve flu uptake.

Who is this Flu training 2026/27 suitable for?

This Flu training is suitable for any healthcare professionals wishing to administer the annual flu vaccine. This could includes GPs, practice nurses, pharmacists, AHPs or any other health care practitioner who is trained to administer vaccines.

This session will provide clinicians involved in vaccine administration with the latest updates and resources on flu vaccines, including guidance on best practices and any changes to this year’s protocol.

Session outcomes:

• Develop an understanding of the causes of influenza, its modes of transmission, and potential health impacts
• Review the changes to the annual influenza vaccination programme for the current season
• Understand the evidence supporting influenza vaccination for clinical arisk groups, pregnant women, children, and adults aged 65 years and over
• Explain the recommended influenza vaccines, including their side effects, precautions, and contraindications
• Provide clear advice to eligible individuals, or their parents or carers, on the importance of influenza vaccination
• Safely administer influenza vaccines in line with the national vaccination schedule
• Recognise, manage, and report adverse events appropriately
• Appreciate the importance of promoting and delivering evidence-based information on influenza vaccination to patients and colleagues
• Identify sources of further information, training needs, and relevant legal guidance, including PGD and PSD requirements
