Sharing a Taste of Eid: Neighbourhood Eid Sweets!
The Messenger of Allah (SAS) said: "Jibril (AS) kept recommending me to treat my neighbour well until I thought that he would tell me to make him one of my heirs," [Bukhari: 6014]
Unfortunately, many Muslims do not treat their neighbours well, especially neighbours who live near Mosques, and this reflects poorly on us as a community. These neighbours often encounter rude Musalleen who block their driveways, litter, or make noise during the night, especially during Ramadan. In celebration of Eid, and as a gesture of appreciation for our neighbours, we will be packing and distributing sweets in neighbourhoods around several Edmonton Mosques, and volunteers will be able to take some sweets home to share with their own neighbours, co-workers, and friends, in order to build stronger relationships with our neighbours and demonstrate the true values of our beautiful religion!
These Mosques include:
- Markaz ul Islam (7907 36 Ave NW)
- Annoor Islamic Centre (332 Saddleback Road NW)
- Al-Falah Masjid (4416 36 Ave NW)
Volunteers will meet at the ICNA Resource Centre (3442 93 St NW) to pack sweets before distributing them in the respective neighbourhoods and taking some to share with their own neighbours!
Capacity for this event is limited so REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!
