Introduction to Anti Racism for Youth Workers
This bespoke training has been built by Anti Racist Cumbria for Cumbria Youth Alliance and will help youth workers and youth spaces across cumbria begin to understand the risks, and impacts, of racism for our young people across the county and beyond.
This half day session starts by looking at racism in detail in its different forms, and our focus on conversation allows plenty of space for dialogue and personal learning. Attendees will participate in practical sessions for youth workers; learning about things like microaggressions, the difference between EDI and anti-racism, plus how to foster safe spaces of belonging for Black and Brown young people. They’ll finish their day by understanding anti-racism as a concept.
These sessions really give attendees the opportunity to begin to sit with their discomfort around racism, knowing it’s ok to do so.
