Introduction to wildlife tracking

Sat 14 Mar 2026 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Biblioterre Co-op, J0X 1A0

The land around is woven with the stories of our more-than-human neighbours. With wildlife tracking, we begin to read their stories and witness the web of relationships we are a part of. This is a practice that uses all of our senses and animal bodies to tell stories, do community science and build interspecies relationships.

In this workshop, we will explore the fundamentals of tracking through play, exercises, and theory. We will learn about :

  • movement patterns (gaits)
  • foot morphology
  • stretching our awareness and perception
  • building familiarity with animal families and local ecology

You will be set up with the tools to track on your own as well as a sense of how to learn and deepen in this practice on your own time!

Group size will be kept low for quality instruction. In case of low registration or inclement weather, class will be cancelled and you will receive a full refund.

15% of funds will go to support the Biblioterre co-op!

Location: Biblioterre Co-op (169 chemin Parent, Alcove), on unceded Algonquin Anishinaabeg teritory.

Date: March 14th, 10-1pm

Price: 45$ regular price, or sliding scale 20-30$. If cost is still a barrier, please reach out.
