Bizet's CARMEN
Bizet’s inimitable opera, CARMEN is a sizzling portrayal of a wilful and beautiful woman, who craves danger and excitement. In doing so she provokes lust and jealousy, wreaking havoc and destroying lives. This production will be sung in a new English translation by Howard Williams with spoken links between the rousing musical numbers as Bizet originally intended. The principal singers are emerging young artists from top British conservatoires and they will be supported by the Arcadian Opera Chorus, and Orchestra.
We offer concessions on seat prices for students and people upon income support (proof of status maybe required) and children under 16. People accompanying wheelchairs may attend free. We have four wheelchair spaces available per performance with four companion seats. People who have restricted mobility should book seats in row B, which is up one step or alternatively, if steps are impossible, book a wheelchair space. Anyone requiring Blue Badge parking should please contact us at email@arcadianopera.com.
We have planned for an interval of an hour and a half for the audience to enjoy their picnics in the grounds near the theatre. However, if the weather is very inclement we reserve the right to cancel this and have a twenty minute interval instead. In this event we will endeavour to contact those who have purchased tickets for the performance by email on the day of the performance.
