Join us for an evening walk across the high moorland above West Penwith as we explore some of Cornwall’s most atmospheric ancient landscapes beneath the rising Buck Moon.
We’ll begin by climbing to Watch Croft to visit its ancient cairns and standing stone, taking in the wide views across the moors and coastline. From there, we’ll cross the remains of an abandoned farmstead before making our way up to Carn Galva.
As dusk falls, we’ll gather among Carn Galva’s dramatic granite boulders to watch the Buck Moon rise. The hill is famous for its natural rock formations, balanced stones, and strange anthropomorphic shapes that seem to emerge from the granite in the fading light.
We’ll then descend back to the engine house as darkness settles over the moor.
This moderate walk includes a few steady hills and uneven ground.
Dogs on leads welcome - there is some loose livestock :)
