Reciprocity - Architectures of Exchange | Architecture Fringe Festival 2025 06-22 June 2025 across Scotland and further afield :-)

For the Architecture Fringe Festival 2025 we invite you to imagine, collaborate and exchange with generosity, curiosity and open minds in a spirit of reciprocity.

Reciprocity is the practice of exchanging things with others for mutual benefit, to aid one another in self-interest or in solidarity, to give as well as to receive, and to invest in and improve conditions, situations and relationships.

For architecture, reciprocity helps to remind us that the functioning of our world relies on the presence, assistance, and positive actions of other people. Reciprocity is an important social norm that informs human behaviour and aids our wellbeing. It promotes sociability and encourages people to work together - foundational requirements for the viability of our towns, cities and landscapes.

If you're interested in taking part in the Open Programme for the Architecture Fringe Festival 2025 with a self-directed project of your own please join us! We'll be introducing what Reciprocity - Architectures of Exchange means to us, and the meet-ups are a great way of sharing any initial ideas or thoughts for projects or events, meeting other people, and getting some help. We do this by opening up the online space for short presentations or points of discussion, so if you'd like to share early ideas and get some feedback you'd be welcome to share. If presenting isn't your thing, we also use the online chat function, too, if you have any queries or are looking for any help.

We're excited to get going, and look forward to seeing and hearing from you on the night!

Best,

ArchiFringe x

Security & Accessibility

This event is being hosted live on Zoom but will not be recorded. The Architecture Fringe takes the online safety and security of our guests and audience members seriously. Following best practice, upon registration, you will be sent a Zoom link where the event will commence at the allotted event time. This link is for registrants only. Thank you for your support and for joining us!

This event will feature automated closed captioning which will appear either within the call itself or in a separate window which will sit alongside Zoom. We have requested all contributors to speak slowly and clearly to allow for the captioning to be as accurate as possible. We will also review the closed captioning to ensure it accurately reflects the event when the recording is shared on our YouTube/social media channels.
