(R)Evolution! Radical Spaces and Autonomous Actions
Wed 7 Jun 2023 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM BST
Civic House, 26 Civic Street, Glasgow, G4 9RH
Description
Join us for an evening of (re)connecting with Glasgow’s radical past. A community meal and panel discussion in celebration of Glaswegian spaces that played host to “radical events” - where other futures felt possible, and the resultant community infrastructure sown by these actions. This event and accompanying work explores the dynamic ecology of people and spaces which have played an important role in Glasgow's radical social and spatial history.
From the Pollok Free State to the Govanhill Baths, GalGael to the Kenmure Street Protest, Glasgow has a wonderful history of collective organising and mutual aid. (R)Evolution! Radical Spaces and Autonomous Actions seeks to document the history and lineage of these radical spaces and autonomous actions, placing them within their wider social and political contexts.
The Architecture Fringe shall be joined on the evening by:
Gehan Macleod (Galgael Trust)
Hannah Torrance-Bright (This Is Rigged)
Stephen Skrynka (The Revelator)
Accessibility
The venue has an accessible toilet and a platform lift. BSL interpreters will be in attendance.
The Core Programme for the Architecture Fringe 2023 has been made possible through support from the Scottish Government, Moxon Architects, Helen Lucas Architects, and Collective Architecture.
