Drum Group Classes with Clarice Cast
A 4-week drum group class experience with Clarice Cast. All levels welcome.
4 consecutive Sundays: July 19, July 26, August 2, and August 9, from 4:30–6:30pm.
Class description
This workshop series welcomes drummers of all levels to explore drumming in the context of medicine music. Together we will discover how rhythm connects us to ourselves, to each other, and to something greater. Each session builds on the last, creating a shared sonic space for healing, expression, and community. This is a hybrid class with the option of taking it in person or online. The sessions will be available to download on the Band app.

Clarice Cast bio
Clarice Cast is a multi-percussionist from São Paulo, Brazil, whose musical journey is deeply rooted in the sacred and ceremonial practices of Afro Brazilian music. Since 2021, she has offered her gifts of drum, flute, voice, and guitar in service to ceremony, bringing intention, reverence, and cultural depth to each gathering. Grounded in her Brazilian heritage and trained in world percussion at the highest academic level, Clarice sees no separation between the concert stage and the sacred circle.

What kind of drums? The focus will be on hand drums played vertically, like djembes, congas, even doumbek can work.
Do I bring a drum? Are drums provided? There are a few drums that can be borrowed, but it's preferred if you can bring your own.
