Caro: Flamenco Music and Dance
An intimate evening of flamenco and Spanish guitar with Caro, joined by a second guitarist/percussionist, and Flamenco dancer Cristina Mogul. Presented ahead of Caro's departure to Spain for a year-long flamenco program.
About Caro
Caro is a Mexican-American flamenco guitarist based in Southern California. Rooted in a powerful lineage of women, her music reflects an ongoing journey of self-emancipation, identity, and reclaiming one's voice. As the recipient and winner of the Fundación Cristina Heeren International Guitar Competition scholarship, she will continue that journey in Seville, Spain, where artistic devotion and personal liberation become one and the same.

About Cristina Moguel
Cristina began dancing at an early age Mexican baile folclórico at her elementary school, she later took jazz dance classes until she saw flamenco dance for the first time. That is all it took to set her on her path to becoming a flamenco artist. She studied in Spain for 2 years with some of the biggest names in the art form. She moved to New York City and danced with Flamenco Vivo dance company, Passion y Arte in Philadelphia and with the Metropolitan Opera. She lived and danced flamenco all throughout the United States and Mexico for 15 years. She lives in Los Angeles and continues to share her passion for flamenco with many audiences.
She is also passionate about arts in education - and the importance of fostering the ideals of self expression with students through dance, visual arts and music.
