Daylight Music: Lost Map with Owen & The Eyeballs, Faith Eliott + Fell [Leytonstone Festival - Leytonstone Arts Trail]

This July we once again join forces with the Lost Map label to present our regular summer showcase of marvellous music makers. A trio of artists will present beautiful, bewildering and bewitching sounds as well as storytelling for all the senses.

For this special afternoon we are inviting artists and audiences to leave their mark on the afternoon. Everyone who comes into the space will be invited to join in various activities: drawing or making alongside contemplating the music.

Produly part of this years Leytonston Arts Trail and Leytonstone Festival.

Owen & The Eyeballs are a London-based wrong-pop band formed by illustrators and long-time pals Owen Gildersleeve, Andrew Rae, Jim Stoten and Nick White. Originally created for a one-off performance at the Pick Me Up graphic arts festival 15 years ago, the group decided it was too much of a good thing and continue to perform in wild handmade costumes ranging from psychedelic doctors to zombie grannies. Their new album Owen & The Eyeballs Too is a gleeful mix of silly and slightly-less-silly songs about moon-heads, naps, procrastination, and loving someone’s face.

Faith Eliott (they/them) is a Minneapolis-born, Scotland-based songwriter and visual artist known for their intricate, poetic lyricism and transportive soundscapes. Their forthcoming album Dryas released via Lost Map, is a lush and mysterious collection touching on everything from hagfish and Pleistocene volcanoes to cursed memes and apocalyptic angels — a vivid, curious sonic world built in collaboration with producer Robyn Dawson.

Fell is the ever-evolving musical project of London-based artist, illustrator and songwriter Nicolas Burrows. A former mainstay of the Leeds DIY scene, Nicolas now creates dreamy, off-kilter psych-pop under the Fell moniker, joined by collaborators Jon Rulton (bass), Dav Shiel (drums), and Matt Giraudeau (keys). Following a string of 2024 singles – including the addictive ‘Lemonade’ and ‘The Return’ – Fell continue to explore themes of memory, mythology, and quiet dread, weaving woozy sonic textures with a storyteller’s touch.

Arctic Circle's Daylight Music has, for over sixteen years, become an important part of London’s live music scene, with a weird and wonderful mix of musicians presenting ideas and storytelling in music and sound, alongside delicious cake, in some of the most splendid and iconic venues.
