The Arizona Bao and Dumpling Festival is returning for its 6th year with the Nom Nom Noodles Festival. Try exclusive noodle dishes from local businesses. Explore creative interpretations of dumplings on Saturday. What is a bao? From Food Republic, a bao or known as a steamed bun or baozi is a "complete meal conveniently packed away in a white, warm, soft bun." Or what we like to say, an amazing delicious experience. Baos are a form of dumplings and you can try different dumplings from various cultures from takoyaki to potstickers. Come both days to get your fill of dumplings and noodles.
WHERE:
Centennial Plaza Park behind Peoria City Hall
8401 W Monroe St, Peoria, AZ 85345
WHEN: Saturday, October 26th // 11 AM - 5 PM and Sunday, October 27th // 11 AM - 5 PM
Different vendors are available on each day for a variety of dumpling, bao, and noodle dishes. Both days will have bao, dumplings, and noodles.
WHAT'S INCLUDED:
Tickets include free parking at the nearby garages and a free 6 piece Thai dumpling courtesy of Thai Chili 2Go (https://tc2go.com/) with purchase of an entrée. Value is $7.00. Coupon is emailed after purchasing festival tickets online only.
This is a one stop shop to support local and try from a variety of food vendors and purchase anime merchandise. Peruse the anime art and enjoy live music.
Performances:
Danny 11:30am to 12:30pm - Piano performance
Carol Pacey & the Honey Shakers 1pm to 3pm https://carolpaceyandthehoneyshakers.com/
You can also purchase an exclusive 3.5 x 3.5 bao sticker or limited edition Bao T-shirt, which comes with free admission. Sizes range from small to extra large. After an order is placed, we will reach out to confirm the size of the t-shirt. Children 12 and under are free. Refunds are available up until 8 days before the event.
DETAILS:
For our sixth year, the event is outdoors. We will have local food businesses and menu prices range from $5 - $17. We will also have a curated anime marketplace with local artists. Boba, desserts, and other Asian dishes will be available too. Parking is free in in the parking garages. We highly encourage carpooling or rideshare. Feel free to cosplay!
All food and drink is sold separately. All of the local businesses will be collecting their own sales. They do not offset the event production costs. Most vendors will accept both cash and card. We do recommend bringing cash for this event and coming with a group of your friends and families to try a little bit from everywhere! Event times will be staggered to improve flow of the event. You can stay as long as you like and ticket times are only for how early you can arrive.
Early admission - Please arrive at 11am
General admission - Please arrive between 12:30pm and 2:30pm
Happy hour admission - Please arrive at 2:30pm and until the end of the event
Refunds are unavailable if you miss your admission time. If you need to switch tickets for a different admission time, you can email us at azbaodumpling@gmail.com and we will accommodate if tickets are not sold out online. If you come as a group, you can try from more vendors and create your own picnic. Happy hour admission is at a discounted price and most items will be available from vendors. Near the end of the event, lines are the shortest with sometimes less than a 20 minute wait.
