The Arizona Bao and Dumpling Festival is returning to Downtown Chandler for its third year. Explore all the different varieties of baos and dumplings from traditional to creative interpretations. What is a bao? From Food Republic, a bao or known as a steamed bun or baozi is a "complete meal conveniently packed away in a white, warm, soft bun." Or what we like to say, an amazing delicious experience. Baos are a form of dumplings and you can try different dumplings from various cultures from takoyaki to potstickers.

For the third year, we are also bringing a double header with the Arizona Donut and Ice Cream Festival. The Arizona Donut and Ice Cream Festival is the first in AZ, returning after a long hiatus from the pandemic. With one ticket, you can enjoy a variety of bao, dumplings, ice cream, and donuts. Take a bite into a fluffy donut paired with cool, creamy ice cream from different local businesses. Celebrate the diversity of food with us and dare we say, bao and ice cream is perfect together!

DETAILS:
For our third year, we will have more local food businesses and menu prices range from $5 - $14 (prices at the higher end are for Asian dishes and bao on average (depending on number in a dish and size) is between $4 - $8). We will also have a curated anime marketplace with local artists. Boba, desserts, and other Asian dishes will be available too. Children 6 and under are free. Parking is free in in the parking lots and parking garages in Downtown Chandler. We will have a mini night market with an anime car showcase and free cosplay contest with prizes.

Register at Happy Buns' booth before the cosplay contest at 5:00 PM. Judging will be done on the stage. Images below of prizes.

Refunds are available up until 8 days before the event. The ticket cost is for admission only. All food and drink is sold separately. All of the local businesses will be collecting their own sales. They do not offset the event production costs. Most vendors will accept both cash and card. We do recommend bringing cash for this event and coming with a group of your friends and families to try a little bit from everywhere! Face masks are suggested when standing in line, but not required. Event times will be staggered. Due to the staggered times and the number of tickets allocated to each time per the park capacity, you must arrive during the following times for admission or you may not be able to enter if the event is at capacity. You can stay as long as you like and ticket times are only for how early you can arrive.

Early admission tickets - Please arrive at 11:00am and no later than 12:30pm

General admission tickets - Please arrive between 1:00pm and 4:00pm

Night Market admission tickets (same local food businesses and experience and these tickets are if you plan to arrive during dinner time)- Please arrive between 4:00pm and until the end of the event

Happy hour admission tickets - Please arrive at 7:30pm and until the end of the event

Refunds are unavailable if you miss your admission time. If you need to switch tickets for a different admission time, you can email us at azbaodumpling@gmail.com and we will accommodate if tickets are not sold out online. General admission and night market admission may have lines with an extended wait time from 20 minutes to an hour if the event is busy. If you come as a group, you can try from more vendors and create your own dumpling picnic. Happy hour admission is at a discounted price, but we do not guarantee all food and drink choices will be available from vendors. Near the end of the event during happy hour admission, lines are the shortest with sometimes less than a 20 minute wait. Vendors may have some menu items that are limited and due to supply, may not carry every choice featured below during happy hour admission. There will be food available during the event for happy hour, but there may also be a couple vendors who may be sold out. You can purchase food to go.
