Machloket

Machloket: a disagreement for a greater good is a unique nationwide community arts project, which explores, shares and celebrates the diversity of the UK’s Jewish diaspora.

Throughout 2023 Jewish theatre makers Nick Cassenbaum and Tash Hyman teamed up with community storytelling company take stock exchange and travelled up and down the country meeting with 30 different Jewish community groups. From a Queer Talmud study group, to a revived rural community in the south west, to a group of ‘ex-Egyptian’ refugees and many more.

In collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Josh Middleton and theatre maker Rachel Mars, Nick and Tash have created a live performance to share some of the fascinating stories they discovered.
