The Enchanted Cinema presents Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are. An interactive, enchanted cinema experience for wild things of all ages.
Before the lights dim, we return to the moment this story was born — when Maurice Sendak transformed childhood mischief and big feelings into a book that changed how we see children forever.
Then, the wild rumpus begins.
Hands, voices and instruments from around the world awaken as children and grown-ups become a living orchestra, creating the soundtrack live as the film unfolds. Forests rustle, monsters roar, oceans swell.
Featuring hand-crafted instruments made by young people from the Wilderwoods Education Initiative, alongside instruments from four continents, and led by professional musicians Celeste (trumpet) and Kieron (viola, keyboard).
For ages 5+. Please keep phones tucked away — this is a screen-free wild rumpus.
This event is part of L'Chaim!, a series of events celebrating the heritage of our building. L'Chaim is part of Jewish Culture Month (16 May - 16 June), a new national festival celebrating Jewish life in the UK.
