Celloman: The Jazz Sessions

Cellist / Composer Ivan Hussey releases 'The Jazz Sessions’, the 10th album under the artist name Celloman.

Performed by Ivan together with two fellow cellists, the trio perform a collection of original Jazz compositions with the warmth and depth of 3 cellos. From the cheeky ‘Tango Through’ to the Grappelli-esqe ‘A Touch Tipsy’ and the beautifully melodic ‘Dark Wine’ - “…a fine reminder of the emotional power of the cello” - All About Jazz.

In the second half, the trio return to perform a collection of tracks taken from previous Celloman albums with new arrangements for cello trio mashing North African grooves, Flamenco melodies, chill out tapestries and haunting melodies that “blend jazz, world and classical musics in a strikingly natural way… - Evening Standard.

Since 2001, Celloman has released 10 albums as electric band and acoustic ensemble, performing numerous gigs World-wide including in the UK, Serbia, Spain, Holland, France and Zanzibar and playing at festivals including Glastonbury, Womad, Beautiful Days and Beyond Cello.

As a cellist, Ivan has played on over 300 albums with a wide range of artists including Soul II Soul, Incognito, Mick Jagger, Jay Z, Natacha Atlas, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, and Take that.

In live performance, Ivan has toured with: Duran Duran, The Lighthouse Family, Snow Patrol, The Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra, Gabrielle, Liam Gallagher, Classic Ibiza and Smoke City, amongst others.
