Static Palm is the experimental post-punk solo project of James Burgess. James’s music features sharp guitar tones, driving rhythms, and reflective lyrics. His performances are full of raw energy, sharp guitar work, and atmospheric intensity. Burgess describes the project as an outlet for sharp, angular guitar melodies, propulsive bass lines, and lo-fi textures. The music expertly balances the raw, urgent energy of classic late-1970s post-punk with the atmospheric, brooding depth of modern indie rock. Burgess has taken Static Palm on tour across Europe and the UK, performing notable live sets at venues such as Death Disco in Athens, Le Zorba in Paris, and the Moth Club in London.
