Chris James and Martin Fletcher

After a standout performance last year, we’re thrilled to have this phenomenal blues duo back!

Chris is well known in Cumbria and the NE as a solo acoustic Blues performer. Chris was nominated in the acoustic category of the British Blues Awards 2012 and is 3 times finalist of the New Brunswick Battle of the Blues. Martin and Chris played at the Final of this competition as a duo in 2013.

Martin is based in Morpeth and known for playing in many bands in the North-east including the “Blues Burglars” and the "Usual Suspects". He is known for the experimental Blues/HipHop band MFUS. He has played at major Blues Festivals in Europe including Peer Blues in Belgium. He is an outstanding harmonica player. His playing has to be seen to be believed.

Chris and Martin have played together since 2013 either as a band with percussion and bass or more often as a duo. With a mixture of acoustic slide and fingerpicking guitar and amplified harmonica, the duo play interpretations of old Blues songs and many originals with a Blues base.
