Annual Maritime Singing Festival with singing in the Sailing Club on the Pier.

This year we have an outstanding line up featuring

Pressgang Mutiny

Leading Canadian Shanty Crew from Toronto. The Crew have performed at major festivals across North America, Europe and the Caribbean.  They are dedicated to traveling the globe to discover shanties, works songs and the people who sing them.  Their music is deeply grounded in the shanty tradition and anchored on their signature four-part harmony. They also push the boundaries to explore the musical connections between shanties and other genres to showcase everything that shanties can be. Expect to hear a rollicking set of sea shanties. Pressgang Mutiny are guaranteed to entertain, educate, and delight. 

Muldoon's Picnic

Muldoon's Picnic are a leading vocal harmony group based in Glasgow. Their music includes sea shanties, maritime songs, folk, world music, spirituals and much more. The group have produced four albums  Their speciality is original arrangements of traditional songs, presented with a sense of fun that has won hearts throughout the UK.

Richard Grainger 

Leading folk singer from the North East. Richard has performed at festivals throughout the country, Europe and America. His music is rooted in the coastal traditions of Northeast England. He is well known for his vivid storytelling tunes steeped in maritime history and working-class life. He has brought out 15 albums since 1984. His music pays homage to shipyards, fishermen, and the rugged beauty of the landscape. His work is a love letter to the North Sea coast and the communities along its shores.

His song "Whitby Whaler" has been performed by many artists. His folk operator "Eye on the Wind" celebrates the life of Captain James Cook and HMS Endeavour.

Scrimshankers

High energy sea shanty group bringing the roaring spirit of the high seas to every stage.  With thunderous harmonies and foot stamping songs,   they deliver classic maritime tunes and rowdy folk songs for all to enjoy.

Sea Shanty Singers from All at Sea, a Cumbria based sea shanty group performing locally and at festivals throughout the country

Mizzen Crew 

Fresh back from Oban International Shanty Festival and Lowther's Folk & Roots Festival, Morecambe's Sea shanty crew enjoy maritime songs, stories & music. They support local charities. This year, they are supporting Cancer Care and RNLI Morecambe.

Arnside's Maritime Heritage

Arnside has a long maritime heritage. The estuary was the port of Kendal, Crossfields built Morecambe Prawners and yachts including Arnside Sailing Club's Severn and Arthur Ransome's Swallow. The Victorians held regattas. The Sailing Club was originally a customs bonded warehouse
