The Poet Is Present: Austin Premiere

You can compare elements of this show to Sleep No More, The Moth, Upright Citizens Brigade, Def Poetry Jam, Jazz at The Blue Note, a Michelin Star tasting menu, Lilith Fair (1998 edition), Woodstock Festival (1969 edition) or making a new friend in a wine bar or coffee shop.

We are co-creating a world where the power of poetry and plants can be enjoyed and savored on an individual and collective level.

The Poet is Present is an immersive & interactive poetic theatre experience where you, the audience member, craft the narrative alongside The Poet, Lisa Ann Markuson, the award winning poet and creative entity on stage. 

Through the evening, you'll enter gently into a collaborative experience, where your thoughts, feelings and lived experiences are turned into poetry on-stage. Our medium of choice: the typewriter.
