Evening Life Drawing sessions at Art Centre Penryn are back this Autumn with new tutor Nettle Grellier. 
Learn new and improve existing skills with a 5-week special offer of 15% off.
The usual week-to-week, student and bundle of 3 are still available too.

16-18 year old’s welcome if they are accompanied by an adult (parent/carer). The parent/carer will be required to book onto the class and give consent. Please email us at info@artcentrepenryn.org before booking.

Draw along with Nettle and enjoy brain stimulating warm-up exercises to help you loosen up or discover/rediscover your personal approach to drawing.

These relaxed life drawing sessions are ideal for getting out of a creative rut and into a state of flow. These semi-guided classes are designed to feed into your creative practice, whatever your drawing ability.

The classes are body-inclusive; working with a diverse pool of life models each week.

Nettle Grellier, your tutor, will suggest a different material or approach each week to get the creative juices flowing. 

MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT:

• Newsprint paper, charcoal and coloured chalk pastels available free every week. 
• Bring any additional materials you wish to use. But please no oil paints or solvents.
• Buy A0 cartridge paper from us at low cost.
• We have A1 and A2 drawing boards and easels (easels offered on a first come, first served basis, or people could swap during the session). Alternatively, the drawing boards can be comfortably used sitting down and resting on trestles

Please note:

The room temperature will be adjusted using infra-red heaters for the model’s comfort during the session. Please dress appropriately for sessions as the space may get hot and ensure to bring water to drink.

Art Centre Penryn provides safe and inclusive spaces in which to work and be creative. The classes are body-inclusive; working with a diverse pool of life models each week. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any disrespectful or offensive behaviour. The code of conduct displayed at the art room must be followed.

ABOUT NETTLE GRELLIER

Nettle Grellier (b. 1993, Stroud, UK) graduated with a BA in Fine Art Painting from the University of Brighton in 2015, before completing the Turps Banana Correspondence Course in 2020.

Grellier’s work considers the figure through several semi-autobiographical motifs: disobedient dogs, soft bodies and gossiping subjects. Taking inspiration from artists such as Paula Rego and Dolly Parton, she uses references across high and low culture to delight in unashamedly slovenly, feral and unpredictable womanhood. Based in Cornwall, and having always inhabited rural settings, she also examines the nature of gossip and storytelling as a small-town tradition.

REFUND/EXCHANGE POLICY

Art Centre Penryn is a small, non-profit organisation and our courses form a really important part of our income, we are therefore not able to offer refunds within 30 days of the course date. We offer the following refund/exchange options:

If it is more than 30 days from the course start date, we can offer a full refund, less the booking fee. Within 30 days days from the course start date, we cannot offer a refund, but we could transfer you to another course, or offer a voucher for you to use to book another course. Alternatively,  you could send someone else in your place, please just email us to let us know.

We're sorry, but we are unable to offer a last minute exchange within 24 hrs, or after the course, unless in exceptional circumstances.
