Join us at Art Centre Penryn for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing - an eye-opening 50-minute film bringing together leading scientists and experts with the latest urgent evidence and why it matters for things like:

  • Extreme weather
  • Food security
  • Health
  • Cost of living

Art Centre Penryn is hosting the screening in collaboration with Cornwall Councillor for Penryn, Dean Evans and Penryn Town Councillor, Rachael Ward, inviting residents to take part in the discussion about how the crisis affects us locally. We welcome you to join us to hear the evidence, discuss the topics raised, and come together to explore how we can support each other and take action in light of this information.

Timings:
6.30pm: Doors open, get settled and have a hot drink
7pm: Film screening (50-minute film)
7.50pm: Film ends, followed by discussion
9pm: Finish

Booking:
It is helpful for us if you book, free of charge, so we can keep track of numbers.
However, please don't let booking put you off! If you can't or don't want to book, please just come along.
All welcome, tell friends, colleagues and neighbours.

AGE RATING:
Based on expert advice, the film is recommended for age 16+, however this is left to parent discretion

More information:
The film documents the National Emergency Briefing, which took place in November 2025, when leading scientists and concerned citizens went to Westminster to present an urgent case for a televised Emergency Briefing on climate change - the essential first step towards a WWII-scale response.

The climate and nature crisis affects all of the UK, and its profound and accelerating effects are felt directly here in Cornwall - across food systems, the natural environment, the economy, infrastructure, and energy. Protecting and restoring nature is fundamental to Cornwall’s long-term resilience. Community-organised screenings of the Briefing film are currently taking place across Cornwall to explore how we can come together to discuss, address, and tackle this urgent crisis affecting us today.
