DOCUMENT NOW: No Borders
Please join us for drinks at the Private View of DOCUMENT NOW: No Borders, a survey of contemporary documentary photographers sharing stories of migration, curated by Andrew Etherington and Yamam Nabeel.

Julio ETCHART, First Nation Childre, Ecuador
DOCUMENT NOW: No Borders invites global photographers to share stories of migration and identity, investigating community and culture in a world of rapid globalisation. This new exhibition builds on the success and critical acclaim of DOCUMENT NOW: London, which took place in February 2024 at Bermondsey Project Space.
In a contemporary sense, the genre of documentary photography resists any reductive definition or classification. The idea of providing a ‘straightforward and accurate representation’ feels outdated – there are multiple ways of seeing, subjectivity is to be celebrated and debated, and someone with an iPhone will always beat the agency photographer to the scene.
In this context, DOCUMENT NOW projects are not mere ‘reportage’. Each exhibition is an opportunity to share stories of the world around us, to highlight deeply personal approaches to the diverse medium of photography, and to platform the global voices who are supporting cross-cultural dialogues to flourish.
