Kreative Talk | STUFISH
Artificial Kreativity presents Kreative Talks with STUFISH
Kreative Talks are the stories behind the creatives and how they are shaping the world.
Join STUFISH as they share their inspiring story behind the late legendary entertainment architect, Mark Fisher and the studio’s various iconic designs including U2, Queen, Beyonce, Rolling Stones, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and many more. Learn how Mark’s initial collaborations with Pink Floyd and experimentations with inflatable structures launched STUFISH into the rock music world that shaped entertainment architecture. STUFISH continues leading the entertainment industry with portable projects, live productions, touring shows, exhibitions, master planning, and the recent award-winning ABBA Arena.
Biography
Mark Fisher OBE, MVO, RDI, (1947-2013) founded his first design company, Air Structures Design while experimenting with inflatable structures as a student at the Architectural Association. In 1976, he was commissioned to build a set of inflatable sculptures for Pink Floyd’s ‘Animals’ tour and then subsequently asked to design the Pink Floyd arena show ‘The Wall.’ Over the next decade, he produced some of the most significant rock concert tours.
In 1994, Mark Fisher established The Mark Fisher Studio, later known as STUFISH Entertainment Architects. STUFISH’s portable architecture projects encompass twelve of the most complex stadium rock shows ever toured. Their early work includes designs for every Rolling Stones concert since 1989 and every U2 show since 1992. More recent projects include Elton John’s ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’, Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way Ball’, Madonna’s ‘The Celebration Tour’, Adele’s ‘Weekends with Adele’, Beyonce’s ‘Renaissance’, and ‘Rhapsody’ with Queen and Adam Lambert.
Beyond the music industry, STUFISH have designed one off events for The Coronation Concert and Platinum Jubilee Party at the Palace, the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics, and the Fashion Awards for the British Council.
