Pulling Back Time

According to the categories of basic Clean Questions described in Metaphors in Mind, there are just two: developing questions and questions that move time. And, as David described it, this “pulling back” is when we move the client's attention back in time.

The reason I want to dive into this is that we use pulling back in a lot of different situations and applications of Clean Language:

  • Finding out about a sequence/process
  • Finding a choice point or a state where one has options
  • Going back and working with an Inner Child
  • Intergenerational Healing
  • Words that Wound
  • Problems confessing their strengths
  • Working with resources

Join me for a practical deep dive to explore this together.

The first activity will focus on pulling back on resources and problems. First, we’ll act, then discuss: What happens if we pull back time on a resource we have? We’ll repeat this process for a problem.

We might do several rounds or variants as we learn more about this practice, both to deepen our understanding and to strengthen our skills.

Ready to deepen your skills in pulling back? If you enjoy learning through experimentation, practice, and reflection in a small group, sign up now and join me for this session!
