Art of Climbing Trees theatrical book launch party and exhibition

Sat 17 May 2025 6:00 PM - 11:30 PM M.V. Balmoral, BS1 4RN

Art of Climbing Trees (ACT) is a book based on a diary by Henrik G Dahle. The author climbed a tree every day for a year through 10 countries, and recorded conversations with over 80 ‘co-climbers’. It’s taken 15 years to complete – writing prose, editing conversations and photography, creating art, and researching the many tangents the ‘walkabout’ presented: art, science/biology, anthropology/family, history/mythology, economy, etc. The book presents the eccentric, personal adventure of an artist, alongside his grandiose political thesis for a green transition.

Launching Art of Climbing Trees will reflect the nature of this colourful book; a joyful theatrical celebration featuring many of the adventure’s participants, an exhibition, and music.

This event is part of the Urban Tree Festival, 2025.

Doors will open at 6pm. The seated event will start at 7pm.
We'll be open until 11.30.

Accessibility: There are three steps onto the gangplank.
