Anansi & the Lost Sun

by Swallow’s Wings Puppetry

November 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th at 11am and 2pm

"Darkness covers the face of the land.
Lion needed someone to bring back the Sun.
Who will succeed?
The Powerful Eagle?
The Clever Monkey?
Or Anansi and his mates?"

The "Anansi" stories are humorous, lively, and community-led stories that traveled with enslaved African people to the Caribbean and then to the UK with the Windrush generation. They are part of our multicultural British heritage and have a universal appeal to all people.

Swallow’s Wings Puppetry is a London-based grassroots puppet company that aims to empower children with a love and reverence for African-Caribbean culture and history. Their goals are to enchant, entertain, educate, and build cross-generational dialogue. Swallow’s Wings Puppetry has collaborated with cultural organizations such as Tate Britain, Manchester Royal Exchange, Eden Project, Black Country Touring, Somerset House, and the V&A.
