Creative Health Funding Surgeries with Mariama Attah

Multiple dates and times Online, Zoom

Are you an artist working in the creative health sector and looking for support to shape up a funding application for your work? You can now book on to one of our 1 hour online surgeries to receive feedback and guidance on how to strengthen your application.

These slots are with curator and Arts & Health Hub Director Mariama Attah. We are also running surgeries with artist, creative health consultant and Director of Arts & Health Hub Daniel Regan - click here for those sessions.

About Mariama Attah

Mariama Attah is a curator, writer and lecturer with a particular interest in overlooked visual histories, and understanding how photography and visual culture can be used to amplify underrepresented voices and close the gap between art and audiences.

Mariama is currently Exhibitions Lead at National Museums Liverpool. Previous roles include Director of Metal Culture Liverpool, Associate Curator for Art Collection Deutsche Börse, Curator at National Portrait Gallery, Head of Exhibitions at Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool, Editor of Foam Magazine, Curator at Photoworks, and Commissioning and Managing Editor of the yearly magazine Photoworks Annual.

How the Funding Surgeries Work

  • Sessions take place over Zoom.
  • Find a suitable time slot and make your booking on this page.
  • After booking you will receive an email with a link to a short form, asking you about your application, what you are looking for guidance on, and to upload a draft. You'll need to have completed this form no later than 5 working days before your appointment, to give Mariama time to review it.
  • Your draft will be reviewed prior to the session so that Mariama is prepared with feedback and advice on how to strengthen your application, guiding the 60 minute online session together. You can ask any further questions in the online session.
  • Notes will be emailed to you afterwards, so you can focus on being present in the session.

Eligibility

  • You can be an artist at any stage of your career, working in any discipline.
  • Your work must be related to health and wellbeing in some way - Arts & Health Hub only supports artists working in this field.
  • You must have a draft of your application available - these sessions are specifically focused on working with what you have already put together. The application does not need to be fully finished, but you will need something for us to work with.

Questions?

If you have any questions you can contact us at info@artsandhealthhub.org.

Bookings & Refund Policy
Bookings are non-refundable. Arts & Health Hub is a small non-profit organisation run by freelancers without on-going support for core costs / staffing. If you are unable to make the session and you let us know - by emailing info@artsandhealthhub.org - with 72 hours or more notice, we will happily try to reschedule - one time - at a convenient time for both parties. By booking these sessions you understand that the feedback does not guarantee a positive decision from a funding body (we wish it did!). You will be required to submit the pre-session information form no later than 5 working days before the session date, in order to give time to review your application.
